In Chinese, the word Tattoo literally means “To Puncture the Body.”

Chinese Tattoos took hold quickly in the western world, mainly due to the illusiveness of the symbols & language. Since many western Tattoo Parlours do not know or speak any form of Chinese most Tattoos are copied directly from a print.

It has been known for Chinese speaking Tattoo Artists to willingly Tattoo Profanity & Nonsense phrases on people who don’t speak the native language, therefore can’t decipher it. That’s why it is important to pick your tattoo from print before deciding on it.
